- 1887The Hokkai Shimbun, later to become the Hokkaido Shimbun Press, publishes its first issue.
- 1942Eleven local papers within Hokkaido merge together according to government policy, and the Hokkaido Shimbun Press is born.
- 1950March 28, "Hokkaido Shimbun Evening Edition" is issued at the Headquarters, Asahikawa, and Kushiro.
- 1952The morning-evening edition set system is adopted.
- 1982The first issue of Doshin Sports is published.
- 1985Offset cylinder printing presses are installed at every printing factory, and the use of lead is phased out.
- 1992Articles are transmitted from word processors to the Internet. Digital editing officially begins.
- 1996DOSHIN Website is created.
- 2002All printing factories begin printing a forty-page morning paper.
- 2006The Doshin Bun Bun Club is established.
